Makeup inspired by 2015's Colour Of The Year, MARSALA / Smudged eyeliner

Color authority Pantone revealed it's 2015 Color of the Year, a rich yet relatable hue known as MARSALA. Pantone described the color as "a naturally robust and earthy wine red". I absolutely love it, it's like rich red-brow-coppery! I can see already in beauty magazines, interior designs and few shops such as Sephora in USA sells already new marsala eyeliners, mascaras, lipsticks and eyeshadows. It's beautiful colour although I think you have to be careful how to apply as sometimes these colors can look like bit ill eye if that makes sense. I think if you mix with some red browns and some transition colours, such as light brown and dark brown then will look beautiful. To intensify the look apply black eyeliner and smudge it out. Eye makeup products used:
Mac - Hot Paprika
Mac - Coppering
Mac - Wedge
Mac - Spectacle of Yourself
Mac - Swiss Chocolate
Mac - Lorelei
Ben Nye - DR-17 Red-Brown
Mac lip pencil - Bittersweet. Yes yes it is a lip pencil, but I have mentioned in my previous blog posts I use on the inner waterline. It does wonders, your eyes just 'pop'
Rimmel  - black kohl pencil. I do the messy line very close to the lash line and then smudge it out. Therefore I am achieving that soft line finish instead of sharp line.
Seems a lot of eyeshadows, but it is all about blending those colors and define your eyes. Of course you can use one or two eyeshadows and will look as beautiful, but I love to experiment.
Hope you like it:)

SOS lip relief

I have tried many lip balms, but I still haven't found THE ONE. Some are better than others and do the work, but not for long. Also I feel like I have to explain here why the hek I have got so many lip balms?!:)) My friends and family have been very generous with lip pressies. I think it's a nice, little present to give to anyone, even for men. Also, they always come in some skincare kits, treatment sessions, beauty packs or extra bonuse when buy something and of course I purchased few. Also is it just me, but it's so easy to lose these little lip balms, I've got in every coat pocket, but still sometimes can't find it:) I do love some, but like I said, I still haven't found my holly grail one.
Winter time my lips are so dry and sore and sometimes skin around lips are very sensitive. Summer time SPF protection is a must.
Majority of them I found they just stay on the surface, does the job for 10 - 30 min and then just disappear. Some of them smells gorgeous and is pleasant to wear, but again personally don't do much for me. I heard loads about Elizabeth Arden 8 hours lip protecting cream so I am intrigued to try that one out at some point. I do like Clarins lip balm, Dermalogica, Nivea, Neutrogena, Hurraw, Blistex, Dzintars and sometimes good old Vaseline. Also I really like Lush Bubblegum lip scrub. If I need extra clean or care I use this scrub. It's sugary polisher and tasting of candy floss.
So Please let me know what works for you and which lip balm, cream you love and swear by.

Picture frames, old jewellery, DIY. Part 2.

I had 3 white vintage looking picture frames. They are cheap as chips. Bought them from Home Bargains I think £1.79. each. I bought 3 of them so this in my third and final one.

Bye bye beaded cream coloured bracelets!:)

Final result. Letters represents us 3 as a family.

This was my first one I made. Loads of earrings, broken necklaces and bracelets. Hope you like it. Let me know which one you like the best. I think these 3 picture frames will make a lovely addition to our house:)

Picture frames, old jewellery, DIY. Part 1.

Going to make something, but didn't have a clue what, so let the imagination begin...

Used up my Christmas beads and in the middle I decided to leave heart shape empty and to fill with something else.

Picked up some old red beaded necklace. Then I found spare little mirror which was handmade for my bridesmaids. On top of that was date of our wedding day which was 26.07.2013 and a vintage style little clock. We got married at 1pm so the clock represented that.  So kinda thought let's make like a little short wedding story in a picture frame. I had some crafty bits and bobs left from my wedding and thought why not:) White and coral colour flowers, coral colour bridesmaids dresses, two hearts and flag represents us. I am Latvian and my husband is Welsh. Two rings although our rings looks completely different and horseshoe for good luck. Dark red and white Latvian style ribbon as wedding was held in Latvia. It was so amazing, I wish I could do it all again:)

..and there you go this is my final result.

One of our present box had two little birds on so I took them off and glued on the picture frame.

Final result. I think it's quite cute, might won't make sense to other people, but it make sense to us:)  Hope you like it.

Jo Malone My Wanderlust by Charlotte Stockdale, new limited edition

Jo Malone new limited edition collection by Charlotte Stockdale called My Wanderlust is out. Inspired by memories of faraway places. You will be taken on a journey through her travel inspiration and ingredients behind each fragrance. She is a new style editor for fragrance house Jo Malone London.
I had a lovely treatment and presentation of those gorgeous products. I think Jo Malone can never go wrong with quality and feeling of luxury. I think this launch is quite unique especially the Box Hedge square scent. It's like a English garden in the sun, just how Charlotte Stockdale described.

This is such a gorgeous candle. This scent reminds me of my travels a few years ago.
This one just says it all, it is so fresh and clean scent. Just like fresh laundry if that make sense!:)

I love this Box Hedge Square Scent. You can put in your room, conservatory, draws, anywhere really. It is such a unique grassy scent.
                 My lovely treatment.

My hand treatment with few of my favourite scents. Wood Sage & Sea Salt and Earl Grey & Cucumber. I absolutely love Wood Sage & Sea Salt cologne, it's so fresh and clean. I like the fact that you can combine any scents together. There are so many combinations. If you want to know just go to your nearest Jo Malone shop and lovely ladies will talk you through and will advise the best combinations for you. Thanks to lovely Ana in Cardiff store.
